“Probably one of the most exciting acts in the Australian music scene we’ve had in
some time” – Jarrod Brindley, 2Oceans 97.1FM.
The Burbs are an Australian rock trio from Bells Beach, Victoria. Formed in 2016, the band comprises Danny Valitutti, Peri Brown, and Brook Mckeon. Known for their energetic live shows and dynamic sound, The Burbs have gained a reputation for their unique blend of pop melodies, grunge attitudes, and dark, reflective lyricism. Their music resonates with a rebellious spirit, embodying the essence of Australian rock.
Early Years and Sound Development: After meeting at parties and bars in 2016, The Burbs soon found popularity in the Geelong live music scene followed by the Melbourne scene in quick succession. The band caught the attention of local producers and were in and out of various recording studios regularly during this time but fell short of producing a record they were satisfied with. Passionate about the music they were writing together, the trio eventually started grinding it out behind closed doors to later emerge with tracks that felt more worthy of radio and the big stage.
Breakthrough with Sunlight Spills Across The Swimming Pool: In 2024, The Burbs released their debut demo album, Sunlight Spills Across The Swimming Pool . The 12-track record marked a pivotal moment in their journey, showcasing their ability to blend sun-soaked melodies with driving rock energy and dark, reflective lyricism.
Radio Success with Ladder To The Moon, Skin and Bones, and There's No Time For Presents: Following the demo album, The Burbs released three singles that garnered significant radio success. Ladder To The Moon released in July 2024, Skin and Bones released in November 2024, and There's No Time For Presents released in May 2025.
Critical Acclaim and Growing Popularity: With their growing popularity and critical acclaim, The Burbs are fast becoming ‘hot property’ in the Australian music scene (Rock ‘N’ Load Mag). Their melodic sound and energetic performances have garnered them a dedicated and growing fanbase and increasing recognition nationally.
