Rosa María López Cortés, known as Rosa López, was born on January 14, 1981, in Peñuelas, Láchar, Granada, Spain. She gained fame in 2001 after participating in Operación Triunfo. Following this breakthrough, she represented Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 with "Europe's Living a Celebration", finishing seventh and drawing nearly 14 million viewers in Spain. Rosa López released her debut album Rosa in 2002, followed by Ahora (2003), Ojalá (2004), and Promesas (2008). Throughout her career, she has been awarded multiple times, notably winning the Spanish version of Danse avec les stars, Mira quien baila, in 2006.
