Sergiu Luca (born 4 April 1943, in Bucharest) was a Romanian-born American violinist. He relocated to Israel at age seven and debuted with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra at age nine. Following studies in London and Switzerland, he attended the Curtis Institute of Music under Ivan Galamian. Luca established a reputation as an early music pioneer, performing on both baroque and modern violins. He made his American debut in 1965 performing "Sibelius's Violin Concerto" with the Philadelphia Orchestra. That same year, he performed the work with the New York Philharmonic conducted by Leonard Bernstein. His recording career included "J.S. Bach's entire oeuvre for solo violin" and the Brandenburg Concertos with Pablo Casals. Luca launched the Chamber Music Northwest festival in 1971 and founded the Da Camera Society of Houston in 1988. He served as a professor at Rice University from 1983 until 2010. Luca died of cholangiocarcinoma on 6 December 2010 in Houston.
