Deadstar, an Australian pop rock music band, was formed in Melbourne in August 1995. The group consisted of Peter Jones on drums and percussion, Caroline Kennedy on lead vocals and guitar, and Barry Palmer on guitar and bass guitar. Deadstar's initial breakthrough came with the release of their self-titled debut album Deadstar in October 1995, which included singles like "Going Down" / "Valentine's Day", "She Loves She", and "Sister". In January 1997, Deadstar appeared on the Big Day Out tour. Their second studio album, Milk, was released in August 1997 with notable tracks such as "Don't It Get You Down?" and "I've Got Something to Tell You". The band's third and final album, Somewhere Over the Radio, was issued in September 1999. It featured the top 100 ARIA Singles Chart hits "Run Baby Run" and "Deeper Water". Deadstar received three ARIA Music Awards nominations for their work. The group disbanded in 2001 after extensive tours, including performances in the UK.
