Lila Elaine McCann, born on December 4, 1981, in Puyallup, Washington, is an American country music singer. She began her musical journey at age four, performing "You Are My Sunshine" with her father's band. By her early teens, McCann recorded "Down Came a Blackbird", which was sent to Seymour Stein of Asylum Records, leading to her signing a recording contract in 1997. Her debut album, Lila, released in June 1997, became the highest-selling album for a debut country music act that year and was certified platinum in the United States. The album's second single, "I Wanna Fall in Love", reached number 3 on the US country charts and Number 1 in Canada. McCann followed Lila with two more albums: 1999's gold-certified Something in the Air, which featured the Top Ten hit "With You" and 2001's Complete. She was dropped by her label in 2002 but signed to Broken Bow Records in 2005, releasing five singles before leaving the label in 2008. McCann returned to the industry with the album Paint This Town in 2017.
