Teresa Sterne, born Teresa Rosenbaum on March 29, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York City, was an American concert pianist and record producer. She began performing at age eleven and made her professional debut at twelve with the NBC Symphony Orchestra. Her early performances included Grieg's Piano Concerto with the NBC Symphony Orchestra, and Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 and Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto with the New York Philharmonic. At sixteen, she gave a full recital at the Brooklyn Museum. Financial difficulties led her to work as a secretary for impresario Sol Hurok and later in customer service at Columbia Records. She became director of Nonesuch Records in 1965, producing recordings by American composers such as George Crumb and Elliott Carter. Sterne died on December 10, 2000 in Manhattan, New York City, after suffering from Lou Gehrig’s disease.
