Thomas Morgan Edwards, known professionally as Tommy Morgan, was born on December 4, 1932, in Los Angeles, California. He was an American harmonicist and session musician who began his career in the 1950s. Morgan's prolific career spanned seven decades, during which he played in dozens of major Hollywood films and hundreds of episodes of American television series. His contributions include themes for The Rockford Files and Sanford and Son. He was also known for his work with The Beach Boys, including the album Pet Sounds, the number one single "Good Vibrations", and recordings for their uncompleted Smile project. Morgan received a Special Lifetime Achievement Award from The Society for the Preservation and Advancement of the Harmonica in 2001. He retired after a stroke in late 2013 and passed away on June 23, 2022, at the age of 89.
