Modestia Aparte, a Spanish pop rock band formed in 1986 by five teenagers from Madrid who met through a Boy Scouts group, gained initial traction performing in Mazarrón. Their breakthrough came with the release of Por amor al arte in 1988, which included hits like "Copas Rotas" and "Ojos de hielo". The band's second album, Cosas de la edad, followed in 1990. In 1992, they performed at the Expo '92 inauguration, reaching an audience of 50,000 people. Their subsequent albums, including La Línea de la vida (1992) and Modestia Aparte (1992), faced internal conflicts leading to lineup changes. The band disbanded in 1994 but reunited in 2002 with new members, releasing several albums and performing live shows. Notable later releases include Veinte (2008) and Modestia Aparte en Directo (2014).
