David Hopkins, from Dublin, Ireland, is an Irish musician known for his roles as a singer-songwriter and producer. He started his career as the original keyboardist for the alternative rock group LiR, which released their debut album Magico, Magico in the 1990s. The album topped the alternative albums chart and featured the UK top 10 hit "In A Day", written by Hopkins. Hopkins left LiR in 1994 while touring in the US and settled in San Francisco. He released the album Here Comes The Bright Light in 2001, followed by Amber and Green in 2005 under Reekus Records. Notable tracks from these albums include "Merry Christmas My Love" and Amber and Green, which appeared on the soundtracks of Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj. Hopkins continued to release albums, including Running With Knives in 2007 and There Are Debts in 2010.
