The Pearls, an English 1970s girl vocal duo from Liverpool, England, were formed in 1972 by Lyn Cornell and Ann Simmons. Prior to forming The Pearls, both singers had been part of The Vernons Girls. Their first single "Third Finger, Left Hand" was released on Bell Records in 1972. However, the vocals for this track were performed by Sue Glover and Sunny Leslie due to contractual obligations. The Pearls' breakthrough came with their original song "Guilty", which reached number 10 in the UK Singles Chart in June 1974. Throughout their career, they released a total of 12 singles, including covers such as "You Are Everything" and "Yo Yo". In 1975, The Pearls changed labels to Private Stock, releasing three more singles over the next two years. Their final releases were "Let's Make Love Again" in September 1976 and "Double Trouble" in early 1978. Both Cornell and Simmons also had extensive careers as session and backing singers, working with various groups and artists. In March 2023, a new compilation titled Anthology was released in the United States, featuring their songs.
