Sarah Yvette McLeod (known as Sarah McLeod), born 1 February 1973 in Adelaide, Australia, is an Australian singer who first emerged as the frontwoman of the rock band The Superjesus. After leaving university to form the group Hell's Kitchen, which evolved into The Superjesus, McLeod gained national attention with the 1996 EP Eight Step Rail, which won the ARIA Award for Best New Talent. The band released Sumo (1998), Jet Age (2000), and Rock Music (2003) before disbanding in 2004. McLeod launched a solo career in 2005, signing with Festival Mushroom Records and releasing the single "Let's Get Together" followed by the album Beauty Was a Tiger (2005), which peaked at number 31 on the ARIA Albums Chart. She followed with the single "Private School Kid" (2005) featuring Chris Cheney, and the 2006 single "He Doesn't Love You" that reached Number 1 on the ARIA Club Charts. In 2009 she issued "Tell Your Story Walking", and in 2010 released "Double R" and a cover of "Dancing in the Dark". McLeod’s third album, Madness (2010), and later releases such as 96% Love Song Book (2013) and Rocky's Diner (2017) expanded her repertoire. In 2012 the original lineup of The Superjesus reunited, touring Australia and releasing new material, including the 2015 single "The Setting Sun" and the EP Love and Violence (2016).
