The Unbending Trees, a Hungarian music project from Budapest, was formed in 2006 by Kristóf Hajós-Dévényi. Their debut EP The First Day was released in 2007. The band gained attention when discovered by Ben Watt via MySpace, leading to their signing with Strange Feeling Records. Their debut album, Chemically Happy (is the New Sad), was released in 2008, featuring contributions from Watt and Tracey Thorn. This album included notable songs such as "The Original" and "Overture". The band's increased exposure in the UK led to extensive radio airplay in Hungary and reaching MTV Hungary's Top 10, as well as being nominated for the Best Hungarian act of 2008 at the MTV European Music Awards. In 2013, the group released their second album Meteor.
