The Team, an American hip‑hop group formed in Oakland, California, emerged from the Bay Area’s hyphy scene in the early 2000s. The core lineup of four emcees-Clyde Carson, Mayne Mannish, Kaz Kyzah, and affiliated member Jungle-scored a breakthrough with the 2004 single "It’s Gettin’ Hot", which established their local presence. In 2004 the group released the album The Negro League, followed by the 2006 release World Premiere, which peaked at Number 95 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip‑Hop Albums and Number 50 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums, marking their first national chart entry. Subsequent releases included Hell of A Night (2012) and Hell of A Night 2 (2016). The Team’s track "Slow Down" was featured in the 2013 video game Grand Theft Auto V, extending their reach beyond traditional music channels. Collaborations with West Coast artists such as E‑40, Baby Bash, and Too $hort bolstered their profile. After the group’s activities waned in the late 2010s, members pursued solo projects-Clyde Carson released singles like "Secret Lover" and "Pour Up"-while the group itself has not disbanded, remaining an influential entity within the Bay Area hip‑hop community.
