Alun Woodward, known professionally as Lord Cut-Glass, was born on December 11, 1971 in Coatbridge, Scotland. He is a singer-songwriter and a founding member of The Delgados, a Glasgow-based band. His stage name is derived from a character in Dylan Thomas's radio play Under Milk Wood. Woodward helped create the Chemikal Underground record label in 1995, serving as director. He contributed the tracks "A Sentimental Song" (2007) to the compilation Ballads of the Book and "Maybe" to the compilation Worried Noodles. Woodward's first full-length solo album, Lord Cut-Glass, was released in 2009. He also released the soundtrack Music from Battle Mountain (2016) and was instrumental in bringing together the musical project Out Lines, who released the debut album Conflats (2017).
