Duchess Says, a Canadian punk rock band from Montreal, was formed in 2003. The band consisted of A-Claude (Annie-Claude Deschênes), Ismaël, Simon Says, and Phil C. They began their career with the EP Noviçiat Mère-Perruche in 2005, followed by the mini-CD Black Flag in 2006. Their debut album, Anthologie Des 3 Perchoirs, was released in 2008 via Alien8 Recordings. The album marked a significant breakthrough, leading to tours across North America and Europe with notable acts such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Fucked Up, and Crystal Castles. In 2011, Duchess Says released their album, In a Fung Day T!. Their third album, Sciences Nouvelles, was released in 2016. The group's music was characterized by its Moog-rock sound and bilingual lyrics in French and English.
