Beef was a Dutch band formed in 1999 from an underground radio show called "The Chop Shop." Their early recordings, including Babylon by Beef and Flexodus, gained attention. In 2002, they signed with PIAS and released their self-titled album, Beef!, produced by Bitty McLean, featuring the hit single "Late Night Sessions". The band won the "Zilveren Harp" (Silver Harp) award in 2005 for their contribution to Dutch pop culture. Their album Last Rudy Standing, produced by Michel Schoots, included singles like "Cashing the Money" and "Last Rudy Standing", which was used by Amnesty International's Control Arms campaign. In 2007, they released a live album titled Last Rudies Live – The Singles and in 2008, The Original, featuring a cover of Krezip’s "I Would Stay" with Jacqueline Govaert. Beef disbanded after releasing their compilation album Favorites in 2009. Guitarist Bram Wouters passed away on June 26, 2022.
