Besh o droM, a Balkan world music group from Budapest, was formed in 1999 by Gergely Barcza, Ádám Petti, and József Tóth. Their first performance as Besh o droM took place at Diáksziget, the precursor to the Sziget Festival. In 2000, they released their debut album Macsó hímzés, which was certified platinum. The band's eclectic style, blending traditional Hungarian folk with Balkan Romani influences and Middle Eastern sounds, gained them international recognition. Their subsequent albums included "Gyí!" (2004), which charted in the Top 10 of fRoots magazine and the Top 20 of World Music Chart Europe. Besh o droM performed extensively across Europe, including notable appearances at the Festival de jazz de Montréal in 2012. Their later albums included Kertünk alatt (2011) and 20 (2020).
