The Seal Cub Clubbing Club was a five-piece post-punk band from The Wirral, England. Formed in 2003 by friends who initially played Prog-Reggae and covers of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, the group's first gig ended abruptly due to a power failure. Their debut EP, Number One In A Serious, was released in 2005 on their own mini record label, Boon(e). The band gained attention with their second EP, The Seal Cub Clubbing Club EP, and subsequent releases like "Celine" and "World of Fashion". They toured extensively with acts such as Brakes, British Sea Power, and Black Wire. Their debut album, Super Science Fiction, was delayed due to label issues but finally released in 2009. The band's second album, Royal Variety, received strong airplay. In March 2012, the group announced their split on Facebook.
