Angelic Montero represents anyone who grew up between cultures. The daughter of Venezuelan immigrants discovered herself by absorbing her family’s culture and popular culture in equal measure. Born and growing up in a humble Miami neighborhood, she fell in love with music during block parties. Salsa, bachata, and reggaeton often blared through the streets until well past midnight as Angelic fell asleep to those traditional Latin sounds just outside of her window. Right out of the gate, her single “Cater 2 Me” quickly neared half-a-million Spotify streams, while Angelic’s debut mixtape You Get Me? established her as an artist to watch. The Miami-born and Los Angeles-based artist has racked up tens of millions of YouTube views and streams by not only bridging musical styles, but traditions as well. Now, she only strengthens this bridge on a series of 2022 singles kickstarted by “Messy”
