Caracho (formed in 2006) was a German electronic punk band from Hamburg. Formed by Sven Lauer (vocals), Omo Bewarder (DJ), and Ivo Vossen (bass), the group was recognized for wearing blonde wigs and moustaches. Caracho released the debut album Lass uns Bambi spielen (2008) on the label One Eyed Charlie. It featured the songs “In Hamburg sagt man JaJa” and “Schwarze Katze”, the latter a collaboration with the British duo Right Said Fred. The band’s live performances included performance artists and the Tour Le Dispo (2008, 2010), which consisted of flashmob concerts in bank lobbies to protest cultural policy. They supported the Gängeviertel Valentinskamp movement with the tour Caracho Tour Le 3-2-1 Die Stadt ist meins. Following a drummer change from Henning Brandt to Jan Ole Jönsson in 2010, Caracho released the album Die Jagd beginnt (2011). Lauer joined the band Jupiter Jones in 2014. Caracho disbanded in 2017.
