Brent Thomas Bourgeois was born on June 16, 1958 in New Orleans, Louisiana and raised in New Jersey and Dallas, Texas. He is an American rock musician, songwriter, and producer who began his career with the band Uncle Rainbow in the late 1970s after moving to California’s Bay Area. In 1984 he co-founded Bourgeois Tagg with Larry Tagg, Lyle Workman on guitar, Michael Urbano on drums, and Scott Moon on keyboards. Their first album Bourgeois Tagg featured the single "Mutual Surrender (What a Wonderful World)", which reached number 62 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their second album, Yoyo, produced by Todd Rundgren included their most successful single "I Don't Mind at All", which peaked at number 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1987. Following Bourgeois Tagg’s split, Brent Bourgeois released his self-titled solo album in 1990 under Virgin imprint Charisma Records with guest appearances from Christine McVie and Rick Vito of Fleetwood Mac, as well as a single "Dare to Fall in Love" which reached number 23 on the US Radio and Records chart. Between 1994 and 2002, Brent Bourgeois worked in production for various artists including Michael W. Smith and Jars of Clay, and served as vice-president of A&R at Word Records in Nashville from 1997–2001. Don't Look Back, his first album in 20 years, arrived in 2014.
