Marlon Jordan is an American jazz and hard bop trumpeter, composer, and bandleader born on August 21, 1970, in New Orleans. The son of saxophonist Edward "Kidd" Jordan, Jordan began playing trumpet in fourth grade and graduated from the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. He released his debut album, For You Only, in 1988, which featured Branford Marsalis and reached number 7 on the Billboard charts. Jordan toured with his quintet at venues such as the Blue Note and the Ritz, and headlined JVC Jazz Festival dates alongside Wynton Marsalis, Miles Davis, and George Benson. His subsequent albums include Learson's Return (1991), The Undaunted (1992), and Marlon's Mode (1997). In 2005, Jordan released the family collaboration You Don’t Know What Love Is featuring his sister Stephanie Jordan, and served as a Jazz Ambassador on a European tour.
