Hatcham Social is an English indie pop band from New Cross, London, England, formed in 2006 when David Fineberg met brothers Toby and Finnigan Kidd. Their lineup released a debut single, "Dance As If..." (2006), on WaKs Records. The first album, You Dig the Tunnel, I'll Hide the Soil (2009), produced by Tim Burgess and Jim Spencer, came out through Fierce Panda and TBD Records, receiving a 10/10 in Vice magazine. Notable singles include "Crocodile" (2009), named Single of the Year 2009 by Artrocker. Their second album, About Girls (2012), received positive reviews from NME and BBC America. Hatcham Social released a third studio album, Cutting Up the Present Leaks Out the Future (2014), described by Q magazine as a career high. Their fourth album, The Birthday of the World (2015), was released via Crocodile Records. Other notable releases include the compilation album We Are the Weirdos (2022).
