Mark Eugene Nesler, born January 5, 1961 in the United States of America, is a country music artist known for his work as both a singer and songwriter. Nesler began playing guitar at an early age, inspired by his father's love for bluegrass music, and later learned to play the banjo. In 1994, he signed a songwriting deal with MCA Publishing. His breakthrough came in 1998 when Tim McGraw's "Just to See You Smile", co-written by Nesler, reached Number 1 on the Billboard country music charts. That year, Nesler released his debut album I'm Just That Way under Asylum Records. The album produced three singles: "Used to the Pain" (number 47), "Slow Down" (number 46), and "Baby Ain't Rockin' Me Right" (number 62). Nesler continued to write for various artists, including George Strait, Tracy Lawrence, Billy Currington, Keith Urban, and Josh Turner.
