Ola Rudner, born on December 11, 1953, in Gislaved, Sweden, is a conductor and violinist. He started his career as a violinist, winning 6th prize at the Paganini Competition in Genoa in 1977. Rudner served as concertmaster for several orchestras before transitioning to conducting under Sándor Végh's guidance. He founded Philharmonia Wien in 1995 and held chief conductor positions with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra from 2001 to 2003, and the Haydn-Orchester in Bozen from 2003 to 2007. From 2008 to 2016, he led the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen and frequently directed operas at the Wiener Volksoper. Rudner's repertoire included works ranging from Johann Sebastian Bach to contemporary composers like Ferran Cruixent and Rolf Martinsson. His notable recordings included Beloved Dionysos (2009).
