Jenny Burton, born November 18, 1957 in New York, is an American musician known for her contributions to dance and electronic music. She began her career as the lead singer of the dance music band C-Bank, achieving a notable hit with their 1983 single "One More Shot", which reached number 5 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. Produced by John Robie, this track showcased a "non-linear" production approach. In 1983, Burton embarked on a solo career, releasing her debut album In Black and White, also produced by Robie. This album featured several successful singles, including "Remember What You Like", which reached the Top 20, and club favorites "Players" and "Rock Steady". Her second self-titled album in 1984 included the hit single "Bad Habits", which topped the US Billboard dance chart and reached number 19 on the R&B chart. The track also achieved international success, peaking at number 24 in the Netherlands Single Top 100 and number 68 in the UK Singles Chart. Additionally, Burton contributed two songs, "Strangers in a Strange World" and "It's Alright By Me", to the soundtrack of the film Beat Street. In the 1990s, Burton transitioned into inspirational music, performing at New York venue Don't Tell Mama with her band, the Jenny Burton Experience.
