John Southworth is a British-Canadian singer-songwriter known for his diverse range of musical styles. His orchestral debut album Mars Pennsylvania was released on Bar None Records in 1996. Southworth has since released numerous cross-genre albums, including Sedona Arizona (1999), Yosemite (2004), and Niagara (2014). The latter album, co-produced by Jean Martin and featuring his band The South Seas, was named Album of the Year 2014 by Rolling Stone Germany and Canada's National Post. Southworth’s songs have been covered by various artists, including The Weather Station and Basia Bulat. He is also known for his work as a videomaker and author, having published an alternative children's book titled Daydreams For Night in 2015.
