Luba is a Canadian singer-songwriter who began her career performing traditional Ukrainian folk music with the group Via Zorya. In 1980, she formed her eponymous band and released the album Chain Reaction. Her breakthrough followed a 1982 EP and signing with Capitol-EMI, leading to the successful albums Secrets And Sins (1984) and Between The Earth & Sky (1986). Notable hits include "Every Time I See Your Picture" and a cover of "When a Man Loves a Woman," which peaked at number 6 on the Canadian pop chart in 1987. A three-time Juno Award winner for Female Vocalist of the Year (1985–1987), she released the platinum-certified album All Or Nothing in 1989. After a hiatus during the 1990s, she returned with From The Bitter To The Sweet in 2000.
