Los Llaneros de la Frontera, a seminal Chilean ranchera group, was founded in 1986 by brothers Carlos and Luis Huerta in Maipo, Chile. Their inaugural album, México en el Corazón, introduced their unique blend of traditional Mexican ranchera with Chilean influences, resonating deeply with audiences. The 1993 release of De Padre Desconocido marked a pivotal moment, featuring the poignant tracks "Ni Por Mil Puñados de Oro" and "Dos Monedas," which became emblematic of their storytelling prowess. Over the years, they expanded their discography with albums like Cruz de Palo (1990), Amiga de Cantina (1992), and Hijo Ingrato (1994), each solidifying their status in the Latin music scene. Their compelling narratives and authentic sound led to impressive sales, with reports of over 1.5 million records sold. In 2007, a significant lineup change occurred when Luis departed, leading to the inclusion of new members and a refreshed musical direction. Despite these changes, the group's commitment to ranchera music remained unwavering, as evidenced by later works such as Cariño Privado (2021).
