Patricia Thelma Amphlett, known professionally as Little Pattie, was born on March 17, 1949, in Paddington, New South Wales, Australia. She began her music career as a teenager in the early 1960s with her backing group The Statesmen. Her debut single "He's My Blonde Headed, Stompie Wompie, Real Gone Surfer Boy" was released in November 1963 and peaked at number 2 on the Sydney music charts. Little Pattie gained popularity through regular appearances on television variety programs such as Bandstand and toured with Col Joye & the Joy Boys. In August 1966, she entertained troops during the Vietnam War in Nui Dat, performing just before the Battle of Long Tan began. She received the Vietnam Logistic and Support Medal in 1994 for her services. Little Pattie continued her career into adult contemporary music, releasing albums with EMI until 1970, then signing with ATA/ Festival Records.
