Leon McCawley was a British classical pianist born in 1973. He studied at Chetham's School of Music and The Curtis Institute of Music. McCawley won first prize in the Ninth International Beethoven Piano Competition in 1993. Albums included Haydn: Sonatas and Variations (2017) and Mozart: The Piano Sonatas (2006). He performed with orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. His recordings of works by Samuel Barber and Robert Schumann earned awards including two "Editor's Choice" honors from The Gramophone. McCawley was a professor of piano at the Royal College of Music.
