Helena Maria de Jesus Águas, known professionally as Lena d’Água, is a Portugese singer. She began her music career in the mid-1970s after briefly studying Sociology and later engaging in Education studies, initially appearing on record with Petrus Castrus on the album Ascenção e Queda (1978). She gained prominence as the lead singer of The Beatnicks and later Salada de Frutas, becoming one of Portugal’s first major female pop-rock voices. Her solo career developed from the late 1970s onward, including work with her backing group Atlântida and albums such as Qual É Coisa Qual É Ela? (1979). In the 2000s, she explored jazz and reinterpretation projects, including the live recording Ao Vivo No Hot Club De Portugal Sempre (2007), featuring Portuguese repertoire from the 1970s and 1980s. In 2024, she released Tropical Glaciar, a collaboration with Pedro da Silva Martins.
