Julius La Rosa, born on January 2, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York, was an American traditional popular music singer. He joined the United States Navy at age 17 and began singing in a Navy choir. In 1951, La Rosa's peers promoted him to Arthur Godfrey, leading to his first television appearance on Arthur Godfrey Time. His debut single, "Anywhere I Wander", reached number 30 on the charts. In October 1953, he was famously fired on-air by Godfrey for hiring a personal manager. Despite this setback, La Rosa quickly signed with Ed Sullivan and had hits like "Eh, Cumpari", reaching Number 1 on the Cash Box chart, and "Domani". He hosted The Julius La Rosa Show from 1955 to 1957. La Rosa continued his career in radio and television until his death on May 12, 2016.
