Iona, a progressive Celtic Christian rock band from the United Kingdom, was formed in the late 1980s by lead vocalist Joanne Hogg and multi-instrumentalists David Fitzgerald and Dave Bainbridge. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1990, followed by The Book of Kells in 1992. The band's lineup included notable members such as Troy Donockley and Nick Beggs. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Iona released several albums, including Beyond These Shores (1993), Journey into the Morn (1996), and Open Sky (2000). They also produced live albums such as Heaven's Bright Sun (1997) and Woven Cord (1999). In 2006, they released The Circling Hour, followed by their final studio album Another Realm in 2011. In December 2016, Iona announced that it was suspending recording and touring as a group.
