Halvdan Johannes Falck Sivertsen, known as Halvdan Sivertsen, was born on January 5, 1950, in Tromsø, Norway. He grew up in Bodø and began his music career with the release of Halvdan 23 1/2 år in 1973. His breakthrough came with the album Amerika in 1985, which won him the Spellemannprisen, the Norwegian equivalent of the Grammy Award. Sivertsen continued to release albums such as Hilsen Halvdan (1991), Kjærlighetslandet (1994), and Tvil håp og kjærlighet (2001). His song "Kjærlighetsvisa" became the top summer hit in Northern Norway in 2008. Sivertsen also ventured into acting, notably appearing in the children's program Labbetuss. He received numerous awards, including six Spellemannprisen and the Nordland Kulturpris in 2000.
