Greg Johnson, born 7 January 1968 in Auckland, New Zealand, is a singer whose early career began in the New Wave scene at age 15, performing in venues such as Mainstreet Cabaret and The Esplanade Hotel. He later formed The Greg Johnson Set, recording The Watertable (1991) and Everyday Distortions (1993); the single "Isabelle" reached number 4 on the New Zealand charts. After signing with EMI in 1995, he released Chinese Whispers (1997) and Sea Breeze Motel (2000), and won the APRA Silver Scroll in 1997 for "Liberty". Johnson moved to Los Angeles in 2002, toured internationally, and scored the documentary A Seat At The Table (2018).
