Ferhan & Ferzan Önder, twin sisters born on October 2nd, 1965 in Tokat, Turkey, are Turkish-Austrian pianists known for their performances as a piano duo. They began playing the piano at age 10 and were initially trained together as a duo. Their breakthrough came at 14 when they won a Jury Special Award at the Alessandro Casagrande International Piano Competition in Terni, Italy. The sisters studied at Hacettepe University in Ankara and later at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna under Noel Flores and Paul Badura-Skoda. Their debut album, Vivaldi Reflections, was released in 2001 and won the Echo Klassik award in 2002. The duo has performed worldwide with renowned orchestras and at prestigious festivals such as the Salzburg Festival and Beethovenfest Bonn. They were appointed as UNICEF ambassadors in 2003.
