Donald James Ross, also known as Don Ross, born November 19, 1960, in Montreal, Quebec, is a Canadian fingerstyle guitarist. He studied composition at York University before pursuing music full-time. In 1986, Ross produced his first album, Kehewin, which was released in 1988, and began performing with various ensembles. His breakthrough came in 1988 when he won the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship for the first time; he repeated this achievement in 1996. He has released several albums, including Passion Session (1999), and his album Huron Street (2001) reached number 10 on the Billboard New Age chart. His album Upright & Locked Position was released in 2012. Throughout his career, Ross has collaborated with notable artists such as Bruce Cockburn and Brooke Miller. In 2021, he won the Walter Carsen Prize for Excellence in the Performing Arts. His album Water was released in 2023.
