Matthew James Pateman (born May 14, 1971) was a British pop singer and songwriter from Sidcup, Kent. Pateman began his career in 1993 as a member of the boy band Bad Boys Inc. The group signed with A&M Records and released the debut recording "Don't Talk About Love", which reached number 19 on the UK chart. In 1994, the group released the album Bad Boys Inc, which reached number 13 and featured the recording "More to This World", which reached number eight. That year, the band received the Best International Newcomer award in Denmark and Finland. After the group became inactive in 1995, Pateman performed as Matthew James. In 2016, he competed in the television program Eurovision: You Decide with the recording "A Better Man". Pateman joined the group Let Loose in 2023 and became a member of The Fizz in 2024.
