Patrycja Grzymałkiewicz, known professionally as Pati Yang, was born on March 26, 1980, in Wroclaw, Poland, and is a singer-songwriter. She spent her early years touring with her stepfather's rock band, Lady Pank. At age 16, she moved to London to study music. Her debut album, Jaszczurka, was released by Sony Music Poland in 1998. In 2001, Yang formed the duo Children with Stephen Dean Hilton and released their first EP on Mercury Records. She contributed to David Holmes' soundtrack for Code 46, nominated for Best Soundtrack at the 2004 European Film Awards. Her second album, Silent Treatment (2005), peaked at number 14 in Poland and earned a Fryderyk nomination for Best Pop Album of the Year.
