Rene Vasquez (born November 5, 1968) is an American Christian hip-hop producer and emcee from the Bronx, New York. Known professionally as Peace 586 and formerly as MC Peace, Vasquez began his career in the late 1980s recording with J.C. and the Boyz. He formed the group Freedom of Soul with Victor Everett, releasing the albums Caught in A Land of Time (1991) and The 2nd Comin’ (1993). Vasquez collaborated with the group Tunnel Rats and produced the album The Earthworm (1994) for the duo LPG. His solo discography included the albums The Risen Son (1996), 586 (2001), and Generations (2003). Vasquez released the instrumental beat tapes heAr (2009) and aBle (2010), the latter featuring the recordings "The Battery" and "Children". In 2011, he formed the project The Battery with Jurny Big. Vasquez used sample-based production.
