King Bee, a Dutch rap and dance group from Amsterdam, was formed in 1989 with DJ Allstar Fresh (Guan Elmzoon), producer B.C. Junge (Reginald Boy Eysbroek) and rapper MC Pryme (Armand Corneille). Associated with the Nederhop scene, they released their early singles "Party People In The House" (1989) and the follow‑up "Let's Take It Home" (1989) before achieving a breakthrough in 1990 when "Back By Dope Demand" peaked at number 6 and "Must Bee The Music" reached number 12 on the Dutch Top 40. The success earned the group a supporting slot for Madonna that same year. In 1990, the group released their first album, Royal Jelly, on Torso Dance. In 1991, they won the Dutch Edison Award for Best Artist in Disco-Dance/Hip-Hop/House and had their last charting single with "Cold Slammin'" that year, reaching number 28.
