Doleful Lions, a rock music group from the United States, was formed in 1996. The band, led by frontman Jonathan Scott and his brother Robert Scott, released their first single "Hang Around In Your Head" b/w "Motel Swim" in 1997 through Parasol Records. Their debut album The Rats Are Coming! The Werewolves Are Here! followed in October 1999. Doleful Lions continued to release albums including Out Like a Lamb (2002), Shaded Lodge and Mausoleum (2005), and 7 (2008) under Parasol Records. In 2006, the band collaborated with coL on the side project ColourSons. They were featured on MOJO magazine's compilation CDs The Who Covered (2006) and In My Room (2007). After leaving Parasol Records in 2008, Doleful Lions released several albums independently.
