The Other Ones were a pop-rock band formed in Berlin, Germany, in 1984. The group comprised Australian-born siblings Alf Klimek (lead vocals), Jayney Klimek (lead vocals), and Johnny Klimek (bass guitar), along with German members Stephan Gottwald (keyboards), Andreas Schwarz-Ruszczynski (guitars), and Uwe Hoffmann (drums). They signed to Virgin Records in 1984 and released their self-titled debut album in late 1986. Produced by Christopher Neil, the album peaked at number 55 on the German Albums Chart. Notable singles from this period include "All the Love" (1986) and "We Are What We Are", which reached number 53 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 38 on the New Zealand Singles Chart in May 1987. Their follow-up single, "Holiday", peaked at number 29 on the US Billboard Hot 100, number 10 in New Zealand, number four in Germany, number 13 in Austria, and number 22 in Switzerland in October 1987. The band toured worldwide for almost a year before releasing their second studio album, Learning to Walk, in 1988 via Virgin Records. Produced by Pete Schwier with the band co-producing, this album did not yield any charting singles. Alf Klimek left the band in 1990, effectively disbanding The Other Ones. After the break-up, members pursued various musical projects and collaborations.
