Figurines is a Danish indie rock band that formed in the mid-1990s. The ensemble was established by Christian Hjelm, Claus Salling Johansen, and Andreas Toft following a series of jam sessions. They released their debut EP, The Detour, in 2001 before their first studio album, Shake a Mountain, arrived in 2004. The group achieved international prominence with their second studio recording, Skeleton (2005), which was released in the United States through the label The Control Group. Their third studio album, When the Deer Wore Blue (2007), was recorded in Sweden and reached number 20 on the Danish charts. The band is also known for the song “The Air We Breathe”, which was featured in an episode of the television series Gossip Girl. Their discography includes the eponymous studio album Figurines (2010), which the ensemble recorded as a trio following the departure of several members.
