Zalo Reyes was a Chilean singer who began his musical career in 1967 after winning a local festival, eventually adopting his stage name during his military service. In 1978, he released his debut album, Esa mujer, which featured the successful song “Una lágrima y un recuerdo" and created a lasting impression. His mainstream breakthrough occurred in 1983 following a landmark performance at the Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar and a subsequent tour in Mexico. Throughout the 1980s, Reyes released several successful projects, including Amor sin trampas (1985) and El rey de tus sueños (1987). His final studio work, Mi caminar, was released in 2017.
