Tigilau Ness (born May 19, 1955) is a Niuean New Zealand activist and reggae artist from Auckland. Known professionally as Unity Pacific, Ness co-founded the Twelve Tribes of Israel in the 1970s and started the band Unity in 1975. In 1971, he was expelled from Mt Albert Grammar for refusing to cut his hair, which led to his role in founding the Polynesian Panthers. Ness participated in the 1981 Springbok Tour protests and Māori land occupations. He also collaborated with the band Herbs. In 1985, he formed the Unity Reggae Band and released the debut album From Street to Sky in 2003. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the fifth Pacific Music Awards in May 2009, recognizing more than 30 years in the music industry. Ness is the father of musician Che Fu.
