Training for Utopia is an American metalcore band. The group initially consisted of Ryan Clark on vocals and guitar, Don Clark on guitar, Steve Saxby on bass guitar and vocals, Morley Boyer on drums, Rob Dennler on vocals, and Carlos Colon on synthesizers. Training for Utopia signed with Tooth & Nail Records and later moved to Solid State Records, an imprint associated with heavier Christian music. The band gained recognition within the Christian metal scene during their active years from 1996 to 2000. Their discography includes The Falling Cycle EP (1997), Plastic Soul Impalement (1998), The Split EP (1998, with Zao), and others. A compilation, Technical Difficulties, was released in 2004. Training for Utopia disbanded in 2000 but reunited in 2023 to perform at Furnace Fest, ahead of which they released the single “Out on Parole.”
