Feline was formed in Camden, London, in 1995 by front‑woman Georgina Prebble, known as Grog, alongside guitarist Drew Richards, drummer Steve Drew, and later Ted Garcia. The group emerged from Grog’s previous band Flinch and quickly attracted attention with a new‑goth aesthetic that blended 1980s influences with contemporary rock. In 1996, Feline signed a worldwide deal with Chrysalis Records and released their debut single "Just As You Are" on 4 August 1997, which entered the UK Singles Chart at number 81. The single was followed by the album Save Your Face on 1 September 1997, produced at Olympic Studios and mixed by Pat Collier, and later reissued in 1998 as Feline with additional tracks. The band toured extensively, supporting acts such as Kenickie and Catherine Wheel, and performed at venues including the Phoenix Festival and NME’s “On” night. In 1998, "Sun in My Eyes" was issued as a single, also reaching number 81. After a brief name change to Ultraviolet, the group released the EP Memoirs of a Psychopath and the single "Unknown" in 1999; the material was later compiled into the album Ultraviolet. Following a roster purge by EMI, Feline disbanded, with members subsequently forming Die So Fluid. The band’s releases remain catalogued on major music databases, and the 2000 album Ultraviolet was re‑issued in 2013 on Strataville.
