King Josephine is an independent autodidact composer, multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter based in Berlin whose music is inspired by the different experiences of growing up in Amsterdam as a biracial, queer person.
Influenced mostly by soul music, her harmonies have a love relation and strong familiarity with pop, early hip hop and R&B.
The songs paint an audio journey of King Josephine reflecting on life experiences, building a bridge to feelings and universal human topics such as racism, mental health and queerness, forming a common ground for compassion and connection to other people.
